TWH Liver Centre awarded NIH grant for hepatitis B
Posted by David Wong on January 1, 2009The TWH Liver Centre has been awarded an NIH grant for hepatitis B: We have been chosen to be a participitating centre in the new Hepatitis B Clinical Research Network - the only site outside of the USA.
The TWH Liver Centre is in the middle of a major re-organzation. The clinic will soon house 5 Hepatologists, 1 Psychiatrist, 1 Nurse Practitioner, 3 Canadian Clinical Fellows, 3 International Research Fellows, and 9 Research and treatment nurses.
The TWH Liver Centre re-affirms our committment to excellence in clinical care by announcing the committment to train at least two Canadian Clinician Scholar Fellowships. These one year fellowships are open to all who are licensed to practice Medicine in Canada, whether they be trained Gastroenterologists, Infectious Disease specialists, Internal Medicine specialists, Family Practitioners, etc. The clinic will also be an excellent venue for shorter training programs and preceptorships.
